So I finally got Super Meat Boy for PC. It was reasonably priced at $15.
Unfortunately the very next day it went on sale for $3.... :( So Higgy bought it too!

The controls are simple, but take a little bit to get used to. He slides around so it took me a little bit to use finesse. To run and or use your special move you must hold down 'Shift' and jump is the space bar. Unfortunately my hand was cramping really badly by the end of this first world that took me about an hour.
The visuals are pretty awesome. They're very retro and make me think of the good ol' days of gaming. Nothing fancy but it does the job perfectly! The story is on the same level. It's the classic "save the princess" plot. But if it works, don't fix it!
The achievements scare me.. Most of them are to complete an entire world without dying.. That's a lot of pressure! There are also ones for completing the light world, dark world and obtaining different characters. I don't think the achievements add anything special to the game. They don't take anything away from it either, I just feel like they could be improved.
I started playing this game on my Steam account on Higgy's computer because I didn't want to turn on my laptop. For some reason the progress gets saved to the computer not the specific account. That means that I loose all my progress and Higgy started with all my achievements.. I think this is a stupid idea and had I known, I would never have wasted my time. But, the damage is done and lesson learned! Hopefully everyone else can learn from my mistake!!
It's a great game so far, I have almost completed the first world and there is so much to do. It's challenging but fun, and the play backs of all the fails helped lighten my spirits in between next to impossible game play. In each world there are warp zones, band-aids and characters you can unlock and play as. I thought I got every band-aid and every warp zone.. turned out I only found 1/2 of them.. lol The end boss is quite challenging because you have to go fast but the obstacles are absurd. This is definitely a game that involves a lot of death.
If you don't already have it, I would recommend this game 100%! I would give this game an A!
