Mario Knits

So I've been getting addicted to knitting and I thought I would share some pictures! :)

Pen/Pencil cup holder meets Tube!!!

Introducing Super Moorio! Accessorized with my knit hat and tattoo!

And here's my Mario knit hat with my new Mario mustache tattoo! :)

Next I'm making a Mario themed scarf where I will embroider in pictures into a plain black scarf!

    1. So sorry for not replying!

      Hat:

-I modified a simple knit hat pattern that was plain stocking stitch (knit one row, purl the other.. repeat)
-First I cast on 90 stitches which was the medium size adult hat.
-Then I did a rib stitch for about 4 inches which is knit one, purl one.. repeat.
-After the rib is complete you then switch to stocking stitch (knit one row, purl alternating rows).
-Continue this stocking stitch for 5 inches.
-Now you're ready to decrease (on knit rows only, purl other rows normally!)
-Knit 1. *Knit 6, knit 2 together and repeat from * until the last stitch, knit 1.
-Knit 1. *Knit 5, knit 2 together and repeat from * until last stitch, knit 1.
-Knit 1. *Knit 4, knit 2 together and repeat from * until last stitch, knit 1.
-Knit 1. *Knit 3, knit 2 together and repeat from * until last stitch, knit 1.
-Knit 1. *Knit 2, knit 2 together and repeat from * until last stitch, knit 1.
-Knit 1. *Knit 1, knit 2 together and repeat from * until last stitch, knit 1.

Then you will need to sew it up, get a darning needle and sew it up neatly and you're done!

I then created a brim of my desired width and length out of cardboard.. I fiddled around with this for a bit, I simply put the cut piece of cardboard in between the ribbed section that is folded up. Once I got something I liked I sewed it into the hat so it could not move. (Usually brimmed hats don't work for me but Mario's hat has one, so that's why I went with a very small brim).

From there I did a duplicate stitch on stocking stitch embroidery to create the image I wanted. Best way to do this is to draw your picture on some graph paper and then simply follow the pattern! Try to use yarn of the same weight to ensure optimal coverage!
